The Catalyst Program at SMU will begin with focusing on “Finding Your Why” with instructor and Catalyst CEO, Daniel Hance. Throughout the first week of the program, you’ll learn strategies and tools to determine the path that you would like to take post service. The Catalyst Program at SMU will build upon those core transition skills and integrate graduate level course work from the SMU Global and Online MBA programs. You’ll also learn strategies for brand management and earn a professional certificate in project management.
The 8-week program is an intensive, 4-day a week program where you will complete The Catalyst Program alongside a Master's level course. You will be highly focused on the intrinsic transition out of the military and how your skills and exeriences translate directly into the private sector. The Catalyst, in partnership with SMU, then reviews various career paths, with instruction led by industry experts, to give you an understanding of your options after military. Throughout these 8-weeks, you will polish both hard, and soft skills to confidently dive into your career after service.

The Catalyst Program
Learn to highlight your personal and military experiences to stand out to hiring managers. After defining your ‘why’, the motivating factor that has driven you through the military, you’ll establish a no-nonsense translation of your skills by working with veterans who have decades of experience in the business world. Being able to use this knowledge of yourself and your experience can help open doors that would remain otherwise closed.

OMBA - Executive Leadership: Learn to recognize the interaction between the social processes and structural characteristics that influence teams and their larger organizations. You'll become comfortable with and adept at successfully managing teams to drive performance. Upon completion of The Catalyst Program, credit hours from this course can be applied to your MBA if you are accepted to the SMU Cox School of Business program.
Master's Level Course

An expert instructor will introduce and illustrate various project management models, and you will have opportunities to practice and apply skills and competencies through group and individual exercises.
Personal Brand: This course focuses on teaching you how to brand yourself professionally. What is brand? And how do you maintain your personal brand? The assignments in this course discuss the value of personal branding, the way to craft your personal brand statement, and finally, the best methods for communicating your personal brand to clients, employers, and other industry professionals.
